I have always wanted a Land Rover and now I have my beautiful Td4 pre-facelift. Since owning I have wanted to do work on her myself.
I need some help. When I’m driving, more at slower speeds but not always slow, when I turn and go over a bump it knocks.
I have replaced the drop links and today should be getting a new set of anti-roll bar bushings.
What do people thing the issue may be? Could it be the wishbones or the track rod ends or something else…

Also is there anything else that is prone to going that I should be looking at.

Thank you.

Could be suspension strut top bearing.

Lift wheels off ground and turn from lock to lock while listening.

Check for broken spring, not always as obvious as it sounds ! They fracture and can stay in place.

Driveshaft is the other possibility but that would knock on turns without the bump.

Backplates behind disc brakes can be rusted and rattle but probably not knock.

Check track rod end ball joints. That is the joint on the end of the steering rack. Cup hand around joint in wheel arch and get the steering wheel rocked with steering lock off. If you can feel play it needs replacing.

Bottom balljoint needs checking with crow bar for play. That is the lowest joint under the wheel hub.

Few ideas to try.

Thank you. I will check them all.
