Starter key I had great idea to move to shed where truck is, unfortunately I did not put in truck & no idea where?
can I just remove the key assembly as a have removed clutch/brake boxes & everything else off bulkhead that is being replaced.
steering is next & that involves a few wires the key way is bolted to steering for steer lock.

Security bolts designed to snap off the heads. You can tap them undone with a cold chisel easy enough.

Or drill them out if that doesn't work. Then when replacing them just use normal bolts or as my previous owner has done grind a slot in them so you can use a screwdriver. They are supposed to be a security feature but a firm enough tug on the steering wheel will break the lock and as above the bolts are easy enough to remove anyway even when broken

Thanks evidently someone had already done that replaced with Allen bolts SS.
i will need to identify wiring next.
& as I am taking a Lrover apart in a shed I am sorting parts moved donor bulkhead where I can compare details.

The wiring off starter switch is White (fuses) Brown(light switch/start soloneid) white red(starter solenoid) & brown red(heater plugs).
This truck was originally a 2.5 according to Clifton lr search.
it is now & has been a 200 tdi is there a difference in wiring loom I am assuming 2.5 na & 200tdi mostly the same.
