This question has probably been asked a million times but I will play the fool as long as I get this moved along. I am down to one fob on my '97 disco which I bought on Europe, have had it since new and am looking to a replacement fob. The local (Ottawa, Ontario) Landy dealer is asking 371 Canadian $ (271 Euro) for a new fob, which I am required to pay up front and they won't guarantee it will work; but I'm still out the $ if it doesn't. There has to be a smarter, cheaper way to get a new fob programmed. They are also telling me a Diesel Landy (which I have and am probably one of 4 owners of such on the entire North American continent) has a different fob wave length than a Petrol Landy. Anyway, you folks know which direction I can take getting a fob purchased & programmed so I can sleep better as night?

If its an import from eu the frequency WILL be different and chances are you will need a license to use or buy new ones. Best bet is to contact an eu seller. eBay should have some from which ever country you bought it.

Guys - thanks for the advise. Euro models ARE different frequency than those in North America, which I found out. I was able to contact a guy in the UK who sent the programmer along with a new remote. In 30 seconds I had a new remote (along with no changes to the old remote - i.e. it still worked). It is not cheap but the gratification of knowing I have two working remotes vice one, which could fail given it's age, was well worth the price to me. I am not sure if I can post the company from which I got it from but will be more than happy to share it privately in case this issue comes up with anyone else.
