Hi,

My '98 Range Rover came with only a single key. The garage that services it (no main dealer) ordered a new key but when I went to programme it I realised that the vendor did not supply me with the Security Information Card for the vehicle. I can use the key but when I do the other key fails to work as a remote. Any suggestions?

Also, I ned to replace my battery soon (getting hard to start on frosty monrings) but am afraid that I will be in troible (radio etc) without a security code.

your local main dealer can provide all this info, just take along your log book, they have all the info tied to your chassis number.

The new key should come already programmed to your car no extra programming is possible, when the key is ordered it is done to chassis no bigstoo is correct you should have given your car docs over and a new key would be cut and programmed to your car this is as long as it has not had a previous new lock set and not been recorded you should only have to resynchronise in the door lock to activate remote locking, hope this helps tiga

Would this key fob problem also be why i now have Alarm Fault on my display? I got a new fob programmed and it works fine apart from this error. How do i reset the Alarm? Thanks Alan
