Hi every one, can somebody please help. I have a 1996 p38 2.5 dse. The car hasn't been used for 9 months. The battery has been disconnected for 3 weeks. I have re-connected the battery but, the key fob no longer works and, the security code, which previously worked is also no longer working. How can I start my Range rover?. I hope that there is someone outthere who may be able to help. Kind regards to all. Andrew Parker. Oh, and, I've also tried disconnecting the battery, moving the key to position 2 and re-connecting. bloody alarm goes off with message keycode locked out. it's driving me mad.

Have you used the EKA code before and are you following the correct procedure for your year of manufacture as per the handbook.
You cannot enter the keycode while keycode lockout is displayed.
Wait approx 30 mins till the message clears then try.

Agree Mozz is your man for this.

Make sure your car is locked with key before attempting EKA code you then need to resynch your key to the lock and also the ignition. Quite easy to do as previous Mozz Smith is your man. Private message him and he will have you fixed in a jiffy

hi andy see your messages, cheers mozz :crazy_driver::crazy_driver:
Hello Mozz, I've seen my messages but, not really helping. I have used the security code procedure many times in the past. this time it's not working. the last time that I tried I did exactly the same as I always have. I put in the code, turned the key to open, the central locking popped up but, within a second popped back down. I could hear the central locking mechanism whirring over and, over. I took the key out. the dash display said security code lockout. this was after only one attempt. So many people have now spoken very highly of you saying that, you are the expert. You must get fed up with people badgering you for advice. Would it be posssible to have a chat with you?. My number is 07915 979400. If you would be kind enough to leave your number I can call, whenever is best for you. Sorry to be a pain. I hope to hear from you. Many, many thanks. Andy Parker

What RF receiver are you on? If you're not familiar with this do a quick search on it: it completely screws the battery and the locking mechanisms...

Central locking activating on/off/on/off sounds like the boot button. Press and hold it till it opens then try unpluging it and cleaning it (leave the boot open until you are happy the button functions as it should) :)
