Hello all....anybody had issues with the key fob like i have now ?
My Landy Defender TD5 90 1999MY has within the last day or so developed a problem with the key fob....symptoms are...Unlock the drivers door, climb in, key to position 2 ready to crank the engine, turn to crank the engine and Red alarm lamp shows up on the cluster, horn beeps twice and the engine does NOT crank !!
So.....if i press the unlock on the key FOB one time only, she beeps the horn and then i can crank the engine and she starts as normal. Ive tried removing the battery for a new one and "pairing" to the vehicle and this worked as it should but the problem still exists? The FOB was repaired a year ago by one of the "on-line" repair services and apart from having to "pair" it to the car when i got it back it's been working fine. All i can think is i did drop the keys the other day on a hard surface but i wouldn't have thought that would have caused the issue?
I have tried the spare FOB for the Landy and this works as it should, so.... "Yes" it does point to a faulty FOB !! Before i go throwing money on repairing the FOB again, has anybody seen this problem and solved it?
