ok so i have an issue, i have now had 4 blanks drilled through trying to copy my blade from the original it seems it is now wafer thin to the point the trace machine cant replicate it,
i was told i will need to get my key code and order a brand new (dumb) key for them to copy on to my new flip key only problem is i am the 3rd owner and i do not have the little plastic tag from new so how the hell do i get my key code ???
RR Vogue SE 2006 TD6

Try going into main agent with ID and proof of ownership V5 etc and they should be able to help, they should be able to pull all the cars details and history and any recalls.

As said the main dealer will have the code. Can't remember if they charge but if they do it wouldn't be much.

My mate lost his only key to his 06 TD6 and a Mobile locksmith made a key from a device inserted in the lock but couldn’t program it without an existing key. He then ordered a new non flip key from land rover for £160 but it couldn’t be programmed by the locksmith without an existing key so it wouldn’t turn in the ignition due to the transponder.
We had to have it trailered to the dealer who sorted both keys for an hours labour as the first locksmith messed up some wiring to the ignition.
As you already have a working key a Mobile locksmith should be able to program a new one for you but the one we used wanted £100 just to do that.
If it just the profile you are after to cut another key from then land rover may be able to supply an emergency non alarm key cheaper but I have no idea if that is possible.
Another problem we had programming the keys was the TD6 is a BMW engine and engine ECU and if you have the touch screen radio then your immobiliser is the jaguar type which did give the Mobile guys some problems as they were convinced they should be using the program to talk to the BMW immobiliser but it isn’t there.
Sorry if that was just irrelevant rambling

I'd recommend the main dealer. The chances are it may cost you twice or three times as much trying to go down the cheapest option.
