Hey guys,

The majority of the posts here are about how troublesome the Rangie is and how cheesed off people are when they don't work.

But when they do work, they are really sweet!

Had mine 11 months now and covered approx 10k in it. (We have a cheapo Clio for going to an from work in & use the Rangie for family trips) Took it to Eastern Europe June 2007 and back without any major problems. Required new brake pads before going but other than that, no problems.

On the way back the Blend motor on the drivers side developed a fault (Open Book symbol showing)

Since then the passenger footwell is slightly damp and i am loosing small amounts of coolant so O rings need replacing.

To date I haven't bothered with these but now the nice weather is here I will do all the jobs at once so she is tip top again.

Anyhow, took her out to the Lake District on a 150 mile round trip Sunday afternoon with wife, mother in law and 5 week old on board with accessories and the Rangie performed wonderfully. Computer stated average of 23.7 mpg (P38 4.0 V8 HSE)

It was brilliant driving around looking above other vehicles and walls and being able to see so much. Not to mention the 'King of the Road' feeling when smaller vehicles give you right of way!

My Mrs has taken a liking to the Freelanders so we may have another Landie coming our way in a few months!

Most of the faults experienced are more of an inconvenience than anything and anyone with a bit of DIY knowledge can fix it themselves. What other car can you buy with prestige for the price of a family saloon?!

Now back to my job of servicing mine & doing the odds and sods once I have bought all the parts.

Where can I get a set of heater matrix O rings and replacement suspension bags from?

Hey guys,

What other car can you buy with prestige for the price of a family saloon?!

a whole shed load depending how hard you're prepared to look and how old a car yer prepared to buy.
you can get a nice jag fer pennies these days and if yer prepared to have a 15 -20 year old car you can pick up a bentley with less the 80,000 on the clock fer under 10grand.

theres fooking lots of prestige cars yer can buy fer less than the price of a family saloon, you just have to pay attention when yer inspecting them and you can get yer self a reet bargain. If you can buy the likes of a older jag or bentley from a main stealer then it has a better than average chance of having bin looked after properly
if how ever you buy it from someone that bought from the main dealer it might be the case they thought "oh! a jag fer pennies al have some of that"
then when thing wear out they baulk at the price of parts and it starts to go to wreck and ruin.
me jag is 16 or so years old and at the moment i'm having to replace lots of rubber bits , bushes, mounts and brake hoses. other than that its bin reet reliable.

True, in the Yarksheer Auto Trader there's a 1994 3.2S Jag in burgundy met, 130k on the clock, quite a bit of tax left fer £850. Quite tempted to go and look at it mesen...

that ill be yer v8 jag, mine has about 320,000 km's on it and still going strong some bits can be pricey but if yer shop around you can find good prces fer most stuff.

what year is that one?

if yer let me know i might be able to give yer a few pointers on what to look for, fault wise

Kinell, just checked it out a bit more, £495, 1994 L reg on private plates that are worth over a grand. Buy motor, sell plates, sell for scrap if it's a nail...

If I decide to have a look, I'll let yer know.
