Interesting car for sale over here.

Its an early pre 2000 car, but first registered in 2002 - so its one of the many Freelanders that sat 'somewhere' for a couple of years before being sold here as 'new'.

It was originally a K Series, but in 2017 was converted to L Series. Someone went to a lot of effort for an old car.

I can't see the point in that conversion at all. The L series engine although slightly cheaper to run, is more expensive and more difficult to maintain, pretty much offsetting any small fuel savings. The L series is a better tow car, but slower than a slow thing in modern motorway traffic.

You've never driven a Series Landy!! Makes a light hearted attempt in the acceleration lane then decides not to bother anymore while you fight to check the many blind spots!!!

Oh I have. I used to look after a S2A, which was hideous to drive.
I didn’t mind working on it, but really didn't enjoy the test drive.
I'm not a fan of the controls feeling only vaguely connected to the wheels.

Performance wise, there isn't any, but that's too much for the suspension, steering and brakes.

The L series felt better than my 1.8 I had.

Certainly pulled high gears better, the K series also has the wrong gearbox, every ratio apart is wrong..

Yeh, I'd have thought the owner didn't just decide to convert it because he fancied a diesel. The most likely thing I can think of is that the mechanicals were dieing and someone had access to an L Series car that had been crashed or otherwise deregistered from the 'system'. But you never know why.

Tend to agree with @Henry_b - if the L Series has a problem is at slower speeds round town in stop start traffic. On the open road she's fine.
