Hey all

I've just ordered a new Defender 90 XS in classic keswick green. Have wanted one since I was a kid (which seems a long time ago) and finally taken the plunge. Am changing from a Nissan 370Z so it's going to be a very different driving experience!

Am planning on using it as a tow vehicle for transporting motorcycles to track days, but am also looking forward to getting it muddy on some nice green lanes! Figured with non-metallic paint it doesn't matter if it gets a bit scratched.

Hopefully picking it up in about 2 weeks, and then first order of the day looks to get some Dinitrol coating before all the winter salt destroys it. Also planning on doing some off-road instruction days to start learning how to handle the thing as my previous off-road experience amounts to about an hour. The land rover days in Wales look promising, but if there's anything better then I'd love to hear about it.

Well it's a land rover so I figure I'll need breakdown cover whichever one I got

I've been lucky with cars/bikes/vans in the past so hoping this one will be a good one!

Immediate plans are just for some security after reading threads on here!

The rest I guess I'll just wait and see what I need. Bash plates and winch seem like the most likely things once I learn a bit more about off-roading.

sound like you have your head screwed on and in the right order

carefull what you do change dosent void the warranty though !

It's at the dealers now, just needs the snorkel fitted. I'm really happy with the combo of keswick green with black roof and wheels :high5:

Shame I'm away this weekend so I'll have to wait until next to pick it up. But I guess another week of anticipation won't hurt. Too much...

Then just need to get some dinitrol underneath and find some mud!

Heh, two million hairy arsed builders who don't know what a dipstick is proves that the Transit engined ones are bullet proof

Don't forget security, fit a tracker and some floodlights on your drive. Looks very nice good for you

Yeah agree with this, our new 2.2 injuns are(so far) more reliable than our 2.4's we had. And nicer.

Looks good but too shiny, needs mud.

Yeah gotta say that I'm a little paranoid about that stuff after reading all the threads on here.

Got a disklok and 'ardcase pedal box already, need to arrange a tracker and probably window etching for when I pick it up just to make the parts a bit harder to steal. Costing me a bloody fortune in extra security!

NICE! ok its a transit motor, but I reckon they are fine, just a bit too complicated for me.
However you will have ya Defender! loads of fun

Pedal locks a must, and tbh on a new one trackers well worth it!
you can get some pretty ok ones that you fit ya own sim card in for around £30 that seem ok.
