Thanks for the advise all , been reading up on landies for a while, I got myself a series 3 safari swb. Not happy with the road holding, mot was only in April so think is could be the tyres/2.5" rised springs. Most of the time I will be on the road. Haven't done much mileage in it yet... but thats me being a bit of a Toedipper!! (New to 4x4 handling).
Even brand new defender 90's don't handle great on road. No way would a series handle well on road lol.
I had a BMW before my gaylander and it did take awhile to get used to my gaylander, especially in terms of handling. Nearly rolled it on a bend but once I adapted my driving style, it was fine.
Sorry about the delays in replying!! Took it out on a long run Sunday, and noted how much better it handled on road in the rain! It seems the tyres are off road tyres and a simple fix is to get on/off road tyres. I was thinking of getting some pucka landi wheels any way. Want to get the old girl back to her original looks. ( the tyres on her are 235/85R16) I don't think the rised springs is help with the tyres. Parabolics for the future?
