Hi,
I've just brought my first freelander 1.8 (it has the multilayer head!)
Not the defender I'm still dreaming of but she's good enough for me, any who I naturly have a couple questions, maybe someone can help me with?
1) Back window, either GOS all up or all down, is this a fault ? Ideally I wanted it to stop half way to give the dogs some air!
2) prone to heads going ! Its just been upgraded but is there any general maintenance I can be doing?
3) I have strips lights for the foot well just to go on when its opened , best way to wire up? Interior light? Relay? Door switch (pain!)
4) its has a new engine but the chap said it was slightly different. The exhaust is about 1mm out when connecting to manifold, so yes exhaust welded it but it keeps blowing, is he BSing me about the engine or can it be connected properly with a bit of jiggerling?
Lastly, fog lamp mounting? Where is the best place and how to mount them, also maybe a winch but I'm thinking of a bull bar so maybe later project.
Thanks!!!!

first of all your back window will only stop when it is one the downward ,if you try to stop it when it is going up it will just go down again ,also the window switch can be a one touch so it goes down on its own so only press lightly. If the head has been done then all you need to do is keep your eye on the water, if the header tank has any cracks in it then get a new one , I have not heard of having to weld the manifold up to the exhaust before and should not be out , I will leave you to do the lights some have wired them up to the interior light but some have not had much luck .
