Hi Folks,
Just been offered an '02 TD4 freelander in swap for my 2WD runabout. I know from reading posts here that Landy die hards don't have much time for them , but are they really a dog ?

I'm quite tempted to be honest, but if it's going to end up costing me a bomb I'll walk away.

Cheers

if you're going for a freelander, the td4 is the one to go for.

I bought mine 3 years ago at 36k, now has 84k on the clock. Really happy with it, wouldn't change it.

depends what you want it for - mines mainly road, little bit of site work and greenlaning. extreme mud plugging isn't it's thing, but a bit of light off road is fine.

(Obviously look for the normal things, vcu, ird, leak in boot etc)
good luck.

Don't do it man, the gay way isn't worth it! :)

We have a td4, as a road car it takes some beating, near40mpg, reliable, and it IS a landrover, says so on the badge:behindsofa:

I thought about about buying the missus a td4 freelander.

Then I woke up and realised it was all a bad dream.:D:D:D

In all seriousness I have thought about getting one for the missus. A td4 is the one I'd go for.

I say go for it.:)

To be honest after reading all the drive train issues I have knocked the idea on the head. Rather have a Vitara. Oops, did I say that out loud ?
