I have a private plate S400JLC, currently on a car that will be going to the scrapyard soon, best offer before it goes, valued at £800 on line, but I cant be bothered to pay the £100 to keep it

What lampro said without mot it's worth nothing.

if so I stand corrected but I was told that unless the vehicle has a current mot the plate was none transferable if im wrong slap me down and please exsplaine so I can slap the bloke down that told me

Actually there is no requirement to have a current MOT to transfer a plate unless the donor vehicle is older than 1960.

The only stipulation for post 1960 is the vehicle must be of a type that would normally "require" an MOT and has not been declared Sorn for more than 5 consecutive years.
