Shouldn't cost anymore than UK vehicle, used to be different when import usually meant left hand drive.

Some Insurers won't insure grey imports, but those that do tend to be the same as the UK, as long as the spec is the same as the UK equivalent.

My freelander was a re-import and only had to change the fobs to uk frequency, the software to uk territory spec and another easy item i cant remember right now. It was then the same as uk spec but first sold in japan. It was a big struggle to get insurance for it. Most companies refused. I was given it but wouldn't choose to own an import again. Just my thoughts.

I had a Discovery 1 auto, jap reimport, for six years and never had a problem insuring the car.
Used different insurers. Also used a broker with no problems.
