I'm thinking off blanking off my egr valve at the manifold this is partly due to the fact that I noticed a lot of sooty deposits around the egr valve,engine bay bulkhead & washer bottle. I intend to clean this area & then check to see if I can find where the sooty emissions are coming from in case I have a bigger problem although motor appears to me to be running pretty well (1998 R plate 2.5TDi).
The one question I have (at the moment anyway) is that amongst the previous EGR threads I noticed it mentions that Jap imports have 2 EGR valves.Is this correct? I can find the obvious one to the rhs on the engine at the exhaust manifold. Where is the other one hiding?
