Hi all, just managed to limp home after a logging trip pulling about 2.5t trailer and logs. Struggled to get up hill unless I put it into 2nd with foot to the floor. Noticed a slight knocking after that ,that got progressively worse with time along with reduced power. Thought I'd have to stop and ring the AA but I made it. On reaching home I found it to be emitting grey smoke. I've had to put in 2 pints of water to get the coolant level back and it's got a sort of tappety top end noise. I did some investigations and found oil in the injection loom to the ECU. Luckily I had a spare room, fitted it and cleaned out all of the connections. Also checked the resistance of each injector, 10 ohms or so anc checked the continuity from injection plugs to ecu, 6 ohms on all cores. I've removed all injector to send for overhaul and I thought I'd do a compression test but my kit doesnt have any adapters for td5 injectors. So guys, do you think I've lost the head gasket? Would that cause a metallic top end knocking?
