I've been battling fibromyalgia for a few years and I'm finding it difficult to do much on the Landy. I had plans to keep it on the road until I retire and than take my time rebuilding it on a galvanised chassis with galvanised bulkhead but that can't happen now so I'm going to have to let it go to someone who can use it the way it should be....

Over the past four years I've turned it from a standard 300TDi to.....

Electric windows;
central locking (including the safari door);
dual batteries one of which disconnects with the ignition goes off so you can always start it;
TD5 dash;
raptor centre dash;
CB radio and arial;
Blaupunkt bluetooth/CD card/DAB radio;
rev counter;
volt meter;
ammeter;
boost gauge;
new steering wheel;
heated mirrors which are 30% larger;
2015 doors so no door rot;
rebuilt heater with larger heat exchanger;
new headlining;
raptor glove box;
rock/tree sliders;
snorkel;
winch bumper with 2 more spot lights;
roll cage with 4 spots and 2 fogs plus 2 side firing spots;
fire extinguisher;
rechargeable torch;
auxiliary fuse and relay box;
full remote alarm system with total closure for windows and central locking;
bonnet & wing checker plate;
rear light bar with reversing spots and high level brake light;
Front and rear light protectors;
Raptor fuse box cover with additional switches;
tow bar with dual electrics;
2" lifted suspension;
31" tyres on Landrover alloys;
steering damper.........

It needs a repair panel around the vent on the bulkhead, the 2 outer seals in the transfer box, probably painting and a small leak in the rear axle casing but I'm not up to doing it so looking for a buyer.

The insurance have accepted its value as £10K but it could go for a lot less than that but......

I'm not sure how to value such a vehicle so any ideas?

That's tough, but with so much all ready done would it not be worth paying someone to sort out whats left to do?
Nice cat.:)

Moo says thanks.....

No, it's not these minor annoyances as I could easily get them done but Landrovers do tend to take up your time and require constant tinkering to stay right. So i'd be needing something done next year and the following etc etc. I'm selling my Defender and my Transit and getting a new vehicle.

@cowasaki Hi mate! Do you mind saying which insurer your with? I've built mine on a galv chassis and done a fair amount of work to it and I've never had an agreed value which scares me a bit.
Would be handy to know an insurer that knows Landy's!! :)

That's bad news. :( Your Landy has obviously given you a lot of happy times, given by the work and dedication you've given it.
I work with a woman who has Fibromyalgia. Every now and then she goes to hospital for an injection. It transform her from a completely debilitated shell in to a perfectly functioning person without discomfort. I don't know what they give her. I do know that when she first had it, and was transformed, she said she had been told that she could not have many of these injections. However, she is still getting the injections, so they may have changed their tune. I don't know if they were concerned about the cost or the side affects? Would you like me to find out what it is or do you already know?

Thanks. I am on the minimum medication due to my job as an emergency responder (You can't take most drugs and still drive on blues and twos!). I get by quite well but COLD is my achilles heal which is the reason I am finding it difficult to do much with the Landy :-(

It's crackers isn't it. Cos the medication my colleague takes transforms her in to a relative super human. I'd rather she was driving to resue me me on her medication than off it!! :confused:

I understand because there are hundreds of medications and interactions and they can't risk it. Imagine if someone crashed and killed someone and they found out the medication they were taking could have effected them :-(

As I said though my condition mainly affects me when I'm cold so its' not normally a massive issue but I was in agony for over a week lying under my Transit van for two days wax oiling it in December!

Yes, I get that. But, it still annoys me. I don't know if there are any specific side affects of the medication Jill takes. Unfortunately, she's never passed her test, so I don't know if she would have been prevented from driving while on it, but I can ask! Presumably, diabetes meds, anti depressants, blood pressure meds, statins etc won't be questioned if an accident happens.

On the scant info I have of your particular situation, Jill sounds worse than you. Seriously, mate. This stuff transforms her in to a skipping, spring lamb. Any idea what it might be? Obviously, I'm going to ask her on Monday!

It's not something I've heard of but Fibro is one of those conditions that effects people differently. What works for one may not for another. Would be interesting to hear.

IIRC it's expensive :( However, she's now getting more of it than they first said she would. Just as well, cos when it wears off there's no way she could function at work. I'll ask her what it is on Monday and let you know. :)

I agree,do what you need to do to look after yourself.Good luck with what you decide.Get a vehicle with a long guarantee.

Very sorry to hear of your health difficulties. Hope you manage to get some treatment that helps.

As regards the value, I would consider it as a standard 300Tdi Defender which you have made a bit more convenient for modern conditions.
Obviously I can't see the chassis and bulkhead, but the condition of the top of the bulkhead and door pillars in your pics looks good.
If the underneath is all solid, I think I would go for about £7,500 asking price, and see how you go. If it doesn't sell at first try, knock off £500 and advertise again.
You could go a bit higher, all depends on how quick you want to sell it.
