hi there, i have got a series 3 swb and have been given a diesel engine by my boss, i think he said it was out of a 11 def, and he also said it is a 2.25, is this possible ? and if not it must be a 2.5, anyways the turbo sits above the exhaust pipe which hits the passangers foot well !

does any opne have any idea ? bell housing fits like a glove though !

maybe yeh, any things to distinguish ? its not got the flat ally rocker cover just a steel one like on the petrol 2.25 that was originally in there ?

this is the same as my **** !

It'll fit, if there's a turbo on it, take it off, you can run it without it, or you need to do a bit of rearranging with the manifold. If it came out of a defender, it's a 2.5. :D

at the age of 17, im keeping the turbo :D yes thats probably the best bet to take it off whylst i get it aligned and oh right the bigger the better, boss told me to just tap off the oil cooler/ radiator ? is this ok ? and do you think i should run rr diffs ? would this effect insurance ? could they tell ?

17 yr old on a turbo engine swap - might want to check insurance before too much spannering occurs... I had enough trouble & expense with my MG engine swap when I was 22..

as for fitting RR diffs - what do you want the thing for - lots of motorway work then go for em if not then don't. I think it'd be safe to assume the insurance people can tell...

Well other than relying on the bank of mum and dad, i am speaking to local farmer union hopefully get it cheep, else its 2k, and i dont think i am going to do many motorway trips, so as i already have the diffs i might just swap between the two every now and then :)
