Hi Guys,

Off to the IOW for hols in a week or so. Can anyone point me to any green laning resources for the IOW?

I assume there are some lanes there!?

Guy

Cant you drive round it in ten mins?? :crutch:

Probly but it'd be more interesting to stray off the roads.

Had a look at their definitive ROW map but it's in such small sections it'd take all week to look at them all.

Don't understand why all Councils don't have a good interactive online ROW map like Hampshire do.

That's a great utility, thanks!

The Hampshire one tells you which lanes have got TROs on them though. Nobody else seems to bother with this trivial information.

Cant help you on that one am afraid...
But i know what your saying, make a route and ring em you should find they'll be helpful and point you in the right direction...

That sounds a bit too much like forward planning!!

Cheers for the info though.

Hello All

Thought I use this topic rather than start a new one.

I will be going to the Isle of Wight in May hopefully.

Seen a number of byways of various lengths on the OS Map.

Just wondering if anyone has any knowledge of them, and suggestions.

Thank you

Nigel

because if they did everyone would be out on them...
here is an example, the expenses system where I work used to be on paper and messy, people would let small expenses and mileage slip and not bother claiming, then they made it electronic and easy and claims doubled lol

It's to wet and they are closed. Ratty said it is by permit for island residents only I believe, Said something like that a year or so ago.

That's a shame, would they be re-opened do you think if it dries out.

It be the end of May that I am thinking of.

If it is residents only then I guess that will also cause issues.

OK.. have you done a search or talked to them? I did go to there site and looks like walkers, and bike only...... could be wrong though

Keep us informed on this one as I'm there also in may on hols.but shhhhh don't tell the wife.I can tell her no dear that's just how the roads are out here.
