There was a feature in one of the landy mags in recent months where they did a tour of the island there seemed to be plenty of lanes to drive it looks good too

Maybe get a trip organised have to price up the ferry crossing if there is enough interest might be a good trip

It would be a camping trip then just spoke to my mate who goes over on the bikes he said pick a time when there nothin on because the bump the price of the ferry right up just looked now and it's 122 quid for one car and two passengers see what interest there is and sort something out

Ok I will look into it I know one of the lads went off on his own when the tt was on he went over in his Landy a did a few lanes

I spent 6 long years living and working in the Isle of Man but that was before my interest in Land Rovers and Green Laning was developed, so I cannot help in that respect, but I think it was LRO that did the Green Lanes and yes there was mention of a permit being needed for 'one' section.

I don't think that you need a guide, but LRO were guided by members of the IoM 4x4 club who arranged everything for them.

As mentioned above avoid the TT and the Manx GP periods.

Taking your landy across will always cost £150+ for a return ticket (but could easily be £200+) and when over there if you go anywhere you shouldn't or do anything that upsets anyone, you can be sure the rossers will be around before you know it.

Plenty of camp sites around though and I can imagine the green laning could be pretty spectacular in places.

These guys may be able to help:
