Hi all,
I found this project series 1 (I assume) in Greece, where I live.
The guy wants 2000 Euro for the car. It is in desolate state.
Could anyone advise me if it is worth the trouble to restore this car. Apparently it has a Mercedes engine. Has not run in 10 years. My dream is to bring it back to original condition (sort of).
My Landy 109 wants a friend, but is this the one??
Please advise.

If you have the skills, patience and facilities to do much of the resto work yourself, it is a bargain. It's impossible to say from the photos what the chassis and bulkhead is like but if they are saveable, the main concern will be the engine.

To give you just one example there's a Series 1 currently on Ebay for over £8000 which needs a lot of work (seized engine, chassis welding needed, no interior trim, paintwork). People are asking very high prices for them, even for project cars.

It’s not a question of price. It’s a question of can you live with yourself knowing that a series may rot away to nothing. You owe it to Great Britain to fully restore this vehicle and keep it on the road for ever regardless of cost. Not that a gentleman would lower himself to discuss money, it being quite vulgar and a habit adopted by Europeans.
You also owe it to the fine. Members on this forum for being yet another plonker in a long line of plonkers who insist on rolling up and asking questions on the only section in the whole web site that clearly states on its first thread title ‘do not ask questions in this section’.
We obviously make allowances for foreigners and women as they are stupid, along with labradors and small rocks as they can struggle with a keyboard.

What about the plonkers that answer them..lol

If I had the will, time, money and facilities to bring that back to the road I would have a go. If I was committed i’d make him an offer I was happy with, what that number is only you can decide.......
