I had an accident today with my p38, drove into someone else's back at around 30mph.

Front crossmember bent as he had a towbar

Is this the end of my range rover?

Front crossmember is part of the chassis and not bolt on so..

Yes but any repair workshop could probably weld a replacement in. Cost vs replacement P38 depends what you want. Yours was getting rusty before the accident anyway.

If you don't want to repair yours use it as a donor car for a cheap P38.

Morning
Just took a look at my cross member, I would say it is not much of a job. Remove bumper and all other parts to give good access but keep it driveable.
Take pictures and then go to local sheet metal or welding shops, they will love this kind of work, easy to cut out, heavy steel, easy to weld, should take one day or less with many tea/coffee breaks.

I have welded many classic cars in my time and would think this to be a fairly easy job, up on ramps. front of car, not much more to say.

Good luck!

Thanks everyone!

I am probably going to try and save it. I had my eyes on a donor car for other bits and I could cut what I need out of its chassis.

The crush pots behind the front bumper are intact, not deformed. With the rangie being so high compared to other cars the bumper completely missed the other guy's towbar.

The rad mounting pins on the bottom have sheered of and the rad you can see in the picture is for the aircon I believe, will need to be replaced.

Bit of an headache and the car will be out for a while as my local MOT equivalent runs out end of the month.

You could find one with a good rad and keep this one as donor. If no MOT Itl be laid up anyhow? Just depends on your personal preference.
I would mention you should ask the boys here what happens when you go down the rabbit hole of scrapper, which turns project and next thing there’s 3 😱
Whole new level of LR madness.
Your not wrong. The first scrapper I bought for my own is now my sons 🤷🤣😜

If the air-con is still working remove any pipe clips you can find and pull it out of the way, be brutal does not matter about a few heat dissipation leaves, removing it and regassing is a little expensive.
