i have a 1990 disco had clutch done when my dad owned it at first they fitted the wrong one due to the chassis number they said its based on a 1971 range rover and on some of the old test certs its says 1971 if thats the case dose any one no if this would make my truck a classic please help

I have a classic car and the car shows I go to class a Classiic Vehicle as one manufactured before 1986. So 1990 no but give it a few years. :)
 
They didna make discos before 1989. Probably a **** up in the numbers somewhere either your V5 is wrong, the number stamped on the actual car is wrong, or somewhere along the line they sent the paperwork through the dislexic dept at the dvla.
 
Chassis is virtually identical to a RRC chassis so It might have had a replacement chassis fitted, at some time in the past..
 
not unusual for the more unscrupulous to use any available chassis for a cut n shut job,seen it done over and over with series,so with the similarity of RR chassis to disco,well......
...any idea of the history of the vehicle,has it ever been written off or been an insurance buy back?
