..... I'm missing

Finally got money together to buy a disco 2. Want an ES. Have seen 8 over the last two weeks and each one sold as I ring them. Final straw today guy puts ad up and he already had someone on the way with cash.:rolleyes: I give up.

You will find one soon, keep looking.

But due to the fact D2s are still user maintaiinable they are having a surge of popularity at the moment.

To add to my troubles I'm in Ireland so have to book flights, ferry etc so just can't hop in the car and go. Would love a black one but know I'll probably sorry.

Could I blame the misspelling on the iPad.

Black is an arse to keep clean and will show every mark but look lovely all pristine. I almost bought a black one this time around but thought better of it. my D1 was dark blue that was bad enough.

i went to look at one the other day and bought it, first one id seen too ;) you're just unlucky :p

I've got two:p:p
Trying to get another 5 so I have one for each day of the week

Here's more salt, rub it in

That was the other colour I started looking at, as losing hope for a black one. There is a silver one in Huddersfield but not made on silver

Got a black one, yes, shows the dirt, marks. Etc, but is the shiznik when washed and shines!!! My neighbours permanently admires her. Love her to pieces even though she has a few minor niggles. If you get good wax it's awesome! Go black, you'll never go back!!

Dont worry about the colour , finding one without rot in the chassis is the hard bit !

Looks a peach doesnt she

just speaking from experience with disco 2 s , there not all bad but inspect them well use ya head not the heart :) an this one has gen 87k two same family owners in the midlands furthest away from the seaside areas as you can get , never off roaded either !! the chassis is as bad at the front as the rear , with many many patches of repairs , in my honest opinion the disco 1 is far better buy as a 4x4 but if your looking for a car like experience just go straight for the disco 3

Well I did check mine out in detail re the chassis and even though it does have some surface rust, a bit of wire brushing, Hammerite & Waxoyl will sort her out.

Re DIII's by the way, they are prone to chassis rust as well.

Isn't it a great shame that LR can't make a decent, rust-free motor with sunroofs that don't leak?:cool:

Just bought an Epsom Green Micatallic ES - she is the Muts Nutts

Proper Colour!
(Epsom 2002 owner)

Seen two Epsom greens with cream leather. Starting to like them. Have you any good photos

Got some sellers to send me on pics. They don't look as bad as that. Did that happen after you bought it over time

I think all the chassis rust issues on UK discoverys is most likely down to exposure to road salt in the winter months. Have had mine all over Africa since 2008 and not a spot of rust anywhere on the chasis. Can actually still see the original surface protection when its washed.
Can't explain why the D1s cope better under similar conditions though..... actually remember one member having swapped the chassis on his D2 for one from a D1. Best of both worlds as he described it
