Is there anything I can look for to determine the age of the belt on the D4. Service history was lost by the wife.
 
In the trade sometimes called a Serp belt… Serpentine.
If you can see the ’ribbed ‘ side and there are splits in the ribs then the belt it‘s due for replacing.

Google for photos of iffy serp. belts.

would also get the fuel pump belt changed at the same time , sits at the back of the engine and can be done with the body on

plus not forgetting the rear belt is timed on the D4
