Iam fitting a 200tdi engine and manual box to my RRclassic, replacing a 3ltr turbo perkins diesel and auto box, the perkins engine had no lift pump so i assume that there is an electric pump somewhere, i have looked all under and along the chassis rails and can't see one, anybody know were it might be?

if there is one there i want to take it out as i have a mechanical lift pump on the 200tdi engine
No need to take it out I would have though, just disconnect it. It has the strainer and tank level if it's like the P38.
I am only guessing that the pump is in the tank, I don't know the Classic, only the P38.

dont know havn't looked in the tank yet, i have tried sucking it up the pipe but not much comes out, so could be intank pump, ill have a look tomorrow

Here are some pictures of a fuel tank removed from an E reg (1987) RRC. This was converted from a 3.5L EFi V8 to a 200TDi from a Discovery.

You can see the fuel pump on the top and the sender on the side of the tank (sorry hard to see).

As you can see in this image, the wiring to the fuel pump has been cut. This confused me as the pump won't run in this state!

The fuel pump is easy to remove - 5 screws. Upon removing what I thought was the fuel pump, it turns out that the pump had been removed and fitted with pipe.

Hope the pictures and descriptions help! :)
