I'm doing route 66 around Scotland with my two work buddies in 2021. I don't need a partition because one's a lesbian and the other's not, but obviously they're both female so we can all sleep together. What model of tent fits on my roof rack?

Wow that"s great. What model number is it? I can maybe sleep in the cargo. Does it just click in to my type of roofrack then?

As you have edges on the roof rack it would make fitting hard.
I would use a tent it’s easier ;)
Oh & cheaper. This was over 1.5k(also photo not my motor I can sleep in the back)

The sides on that roof rack will make fitting a roof tent an absolute nightmare as it folds out.

The very thought of it makes me feel sick (not the heels and lippy but the thought of partaking). Route 66 is coastal. They say that the definition of confusion is Lesbians at a fishing port.

I’m sure a squirt of Chanel will sort that out. ;)

To reply to the OP. your roof rack doesn't look like it will allow the fold out type roof tents to deploy as it has sides.I can't see from the picture if there is a tube round the back as well - you could decide to cut off the bar at the back so you could deploy a tent off the rear - if you could find something that fits between the rails - and these are likely to make 3 people Very cosy. The bigger roof tents will deploy off the side and have extra room but don't look compatible with your roof rack.

I'd suggest selling the roof rack for something compatible if you're really set on a roof tent.

If you're going in the summer, can use the vehicle to protect the tent from the worst of any weather, will be moving every day packing things up. Then I'd suggest something like this:
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/4-6-Pers...446277153:g:aVkAAOSwPRZdgIBi&var=592097107636
just for ease of use and if you're not going to use it again.

Cheers for that. Rear has double tube rail. I'll go with the pop up idea though I was hoping not to have to use tent parks and I dunno what the scots cops are like about grass verge pitching. I wouldn't sell or modify my roofrack. It's an original LR expedition model.

You need to check as between certain months wild camping is not permitted.

search for wild camping, most will give you ideas where you can park and not be disturbed.
Also the nice car parks have height restrictions.
