As above thinking of fitting one to my classic range rover, got 200tdi in at moment but quite noisy according to the missus

Granted that the 200tdi is a tad bit noisy, especially when compared to modern diesels, but I've found that they sound far less like a tractor when the injection pump advance is properly set up with the right tools. A whole bunch of them are running around with too much injection timing with its associated knock/rattle.

ITs got a different injection style, and a rubber cover on top. It's a bit quieter.

But then again, a modern airline is quieter than an old 707. Still makes a racket however...

A friend offered me a tip today, don't know weather any of you have heard it but he puts about two egg cups of two stroke oil in with about £40 worth of diesel and says it does quieten engines, it also cleans injectors, i have yet to try it
