Hi, wondering if this is fixable.

Defender 90, electric windows. 2004 TD5

No cracks on card, the door button is extremely shoogly though. Some of the yellow fixings have snapped off, and the ones that are intact, the corresponding black screw has sheared.

Any tips for getting the whole thing off, then is it just a case of getting new hidden screw clips thingies for the inside?

thanks!

I have the same issues.. Was wondering about drilling it and screwing it to the frame with some large domed self tappers ..

You need to take the grab handle and window winder off. I also take the door release and carefully take off the pop up lock thing then ease it off around the edge.

Once you do that those fixings can be taken off and reattached

no window winder (electric). does that make any difference? thanks.

ps, my pop up button, whilst still working, is basically hanging on for dear life:eek:

Providing the housing for the clips on the back of the door are in tack you can get new clips if needed. Search door escutcheon for the push lock.dirt cheap. There are two types of door fixings the ones on the back and the ones that go through the card from the front

Yeah easily fixed properly.

You need a bag of the door car plastic clips and a bag of the pins that go into the door. I rebuild my two doors a couple of years back and did this and it made the doors look perfect.
