I have noticed recently the amount of stupid prices being thrown around, I have seen 96 Disco 300's priced at nearly £3K, 1980's 90's priced at £5K+ and even some 200TDi defenders priced at near on £10K!!!:eek:

I know theres snow tax but theres no snow... whats going on...

My mint and unmodified 05 TD5 hardtop 90 was £10k when I bought it getting on for a couple of years back - if that's of any help as some sort of reference point....it probably isn't.

But then, I guess many people will not touch a TD5 with a bargepole because of the Apollo command centre bolted under the driver's seat - so 200 and 300TDi's in good nick maybe command a bit of a premium?

It is bloody hard putting a value Land Rovers though. You just never really know.....

when I was looking newer 300tdis seemed to be more than an old TD5 (ie crossover point +/- a year)

if they're solid and tidy, they seem to be around the prices youv'e found, I got a solid, but not so tidy 110CSW for less than 5K with a bootfull of bits/spares.

200tdi 90 HTsw i use is valued at 7.5k for insurance, they valued it thats not a self valuation.

it depends what you can find the same really ...

It's the time of year and the weather that seams to push the 4x4s price up
like selling a convertible in the summer

If something is in demand the price will go up - especially if there are few of those things that people want - 200tdi's are a fave model for many and they're sometimes difficult to get a good'n

I read an article recently about how now is the time to buy a TD5 Defender as they are going up in value and the price guide was from 5k-20k+ depending on condition and age.

I recently purchased a 110csw and paid over 13k for it but I love it and it is in great condition having been done up by LR main dealer including respray and loads of bolt on bits. It has proved solid and reliable so far. I thought I wanted to spend around 8k but the condition of cars at this price were shocking generally so had to up the budget. I looked at a lot of dogs at 15k + before finding the one I wanted. I love it and was worth every penny!

I can comment on the price diffrences as i spent 2 months looking for a decent 300tdi 110 county. I,ve found one in mint condition (as mint as a defender can be). 300tdi was what i wanted as i have a 90 300tdi just now and at work we also use 300tdi,s

For what i,ve paid i could of had a td5 with less miles on the clock and 5 years younger. But a 300 i wanted so thats what i went a bought..

There are some dogs out there that are well overpriced but people not in the know wil pay the asking price as they know, know different!

I paid £115 for my dog, as much as I tried, the rescue centre wouldn't budge. ;)

iv got my 1997 rebuilt galv chassis 300tdi disco transfer box sitting on fleabay at £6000 with no bids :( but on the other hand no bids :)

My 94 300tdi 90 was 3k 11 month ago with 11 months mot, the chassis and bulkhead are solid body has had a hard life, came with 2 sets of wheels, extreme winch bumper and a warn xd9000 winch, light bar with spots and a 2" lift, 124k on the clock

my csw 90 was 1600 3 years ago but that's with 2.5 n/a it was in brilliant nick and then i happened . . its getting a right makeover now though wont be worth the sum of its parts, but i'm never going to sell it so who cares :D
