Hey land rover fans, this is Bernardo reporting from the small country of costa rica where i own a series II and land rovers are a common sight here, unfortunately, they, after thirty or so years, are still used for hauling cargo and as the workhorses they were created for; that means that finding land rovers in good condition is hard! My car is in relatively good state but i can't get past the paint job, it S----!!! i bought it about a year ago, the past owner painted the scratch marks with a brush!! and with another color!! so my car has a lot of orange reddish stains, and it supposedly is red, but honestly i wouldn't know  and i want to paint it factory style, but i don't know how the factory red land rovers were, so if anyone can help me, i'd be very appreciative

I think factory red is called Masaii Red. My series 2 was this colour, a sort of hideous "Tandoori" colour, it's now black.
Anyway welcome to the forum chap.

Regards WP.

ffs don't paint it red, i get stuck behind enough red ones as it is without painting another one red, try blue, thats a nice colour:)

Painting it red is the Landrover equivalent of wearing a Trilby.

They should all be green.

Ok ok...i see that my car's color aint exactly the best for land rovers, but changing it means i have to go through a world of trouble in the MOPT our similar to your MOT, and have a request for changing colors and everything, although i am leaning to painting it other color, either olive green, light brown, or a dark blue...but i have some time to decide, since there are other things ahead
