Hello all. I have just bought a S1 Disco 300TDI, my third, although the last one was about 15 years ago. Its built for off roading with lifted suspension, big wheels and tyres, winch, lots of light, etc. I'm looking forward to using it as my daily driver but cant see me using it off road.
Pleased to be part of the forum.
Regards to all, Paul.

Hello and welcome, got any pictures you would like to share?
Hi this is the only one at present. Taken in Tesco car park

Welcome to the site.

What was your answer when the insurance company asked “has the vehicle been modified at all sir?”

Thanks all for you responses.
Anaconda, I don't intend to off road but you never know!
Freddie17, I told them it had been lifted and bigger wheels and tires, spot lights etc. and the premium was I thought very good, and when I read the policy bits and pieces, they had included off road use!! (Footman James) better price than insurer of my other classics.
RangeRoller dt, on the button, Douglas it is, couldn't be anything else!!
As to my original query re the poor starting. I tried most of the tests I got on the forum and couldn't find anything wrong! Then I had a light bulb moment and wondered if it could e the ignition switch. Changed it for new one and so far problem has gone!!!
Thanks everyone for any help you gave me. No doubt I will be back:)

Our of interest what exactly is "off road cover" ?
It's a serious question as I don't know.
It obviously doesn't mean "Green Lanes" as these are covered by road regulations anyway, as in you need mot tax and insurance as per a normal road.
So does off road cover mean an off road site?
Off Roading is NOT green laning.

It’s a good question actually…
So when I ‘green lane’, my insurance is obviously covering me.
When I go onto farmland shooting, I’m legally ‘off road’ as it is private land, whether that’s a field or a track. So I don’t need insurance anyway! Unless I were to hit a tree or something. And the tree won’t sue me.

Sounds a bit like they are giving you ‘something’ when actually you are getting nothing - or am I misreading it?
