Hi all
I've had my 2000 P38 4.6 now for 3 months and I love it! It's been great but last thursday I was driving along and the 'max speed 35mph' fault came on the message centre and all the lights on the eas indicator. Got out and had a look and the rear was on the bump stops and the front was at full height! Drove home like this and reset the fault with my nanocom. Car went back to normal with eas going to all heights when selected.
All is not good though, Since Thursday when you are driving along the ride height will go to the high setting on it's own intermittently and then come back down to normal after a few miles. The orange max ride height will be on on the dash when it goes to its full height.
Never logs any faults on the Nanocom.
Any ideas? Could it be a faulty height sensor?

Thanks all in advance.
Peter

Check the connectors in the EAS box especially the one under the block, unplug and re-plug a few times preferably with some contact cleaner (NOT WD40). Otherwise it may be the driver pack. Have you looked at the actual height sensor readings to see if they appear normal?

In the meantime - you could try inhibiting the setting on standard or motorway? to stop it wandering up and down.

It could be the driver that connects to the valve block, these can overheat causing them to short.
As Datatek said check the connections they may be loose if the plug isn't clipped properly to the valve block
Could be a few things but worth checking these off first

Thanks everyone. I have tried to lock the eas in the standard position but makes no difference. Datatek, the readings look ok on the nanocom difference of about 1 or 2 between the actual and the set. I will check the plugs in the morning and use some contact cleaner.

thanks again

Peter
