Hi all,
Had the amigos pop up on my untouched disco 2 td5. I thought I'd just go old fashioned and grab a can of contact cleaner..

Pulled the abs relay out.. and behold ..... Oil.... Pulled out the air compressors relay ... More oil...
I then contact cleaned everything in that fuse box, cleaned every fuse and relay, plugged it all back in, including the 2 plugs that connect into the engine fuse box .. fingers crossed and hoped for the best...

Bingo! No lights on that dash and they have stayed off completely all day yesterday. I will replace the oiled look I think as it will only cause more issues, but I though id just share this bit of info if anyone is seeking some amigo relief :):D
 
Hi. Fingers crossed but i have the feeling that the amigos will come back soon, i doubt that oil would have caused just 3 amigos if it was about some damage, I hope i'm wrong. IMO they dissappeared for now as you gave a hard reset to the SLABS ECU by letting it without power and the fault is probably not a current one but something intermittent. Oil can be a problem for PWM signals as it can act like an insulator which can disturb digital signals but not much effect for 12V DC which is within that fusebox. The only thing which would confirm that the problem was that oil in the fusebox would be a power to the ECU or ABS relay related fault code stored in the ECU memory. Though it's a good thing that you mentioned about oil ingress in that fusebox, it's not very common but happens so worth a check anyway

Yes it's very odd.. I've rescanned the car since and there isn't any fault codes?? It wasn't a Hawkeye or nano com I will admit, it was a LR d.i.y one my neighbour had.
It would be an interesting journey to see where this goes? I must admit, these Discovery's do throw some interesting things at you lol . But the challenge to sort them at 1st seems daunting..but highly satisfying once you fix them lol
