Hi all I've got a 2003 Freelander 2.5 with an intank fuel pump.. I found that with a full tank I was getting fuel leaking on the ground... opened up the rears seat hatch to access the pump and found that the retainer ring was loose and the pump bouncing up and down.. (I believe that a mechanic replaced the pump in the last year)...hence fuel spillage..
I've taken the pump out and reseated it.. cleaned the gasket and all but still seem to be getting some leakage from the top around the gasket.. I've tightened the lock ring as much as I dare.. Is the replacement of the lock ring a possible solution to this?? Gasket was in good shape, and the pump is working fine.. Ran the engine with the access hatch off and didn't see any leaking from the pump body or lines.. just around the seal..
Any ideas would be appreciated..

Fit a new seal, only way I could cure mine leaking after sender changed. Old seal looked ok as well.
