Evening all,

I know this has probably been talked to death already a million times and I did have a good look back through the old posts, however I'm still at a bit of a loss !

Just bought a Defender 90 Td5 after years of missing having a defender in my life, ( been running Discovery's for years ) and I've been getting some insurance quotes ready but they all seem to be way higher than I'd anticipated...

Just curious has anyone recently insured their Defender for a reasonable price ?? any recommended insurers to try ?

Thanks in advance 👍

Depends what you call reasonable, what sort of cost did you think it was going to be?
I'm sure you know they get stolen alot?
Age, location, driving history all have an affect on your insurance. Also in general insurance has gone up in the last year or two.

Having it garaged and extra security measures help. But as mentioned, age, driving history and location are big factors in what you will pay. Declare all modifications as insurers will use any excuse not to pay out if you claim.

Well, I've been getting quotes from between £760 - £4k ....
I was expecting around £500 ish as I figured it would be more than my discovery which is around £370.

And yea I know they get stolen a lot, I'm 38 with clean license for 18 years now

I'm 56, never made a claim and I pay £500 and something. I was also getting silly quotes. I has a good chat with a broker, who do qoute classics, American, land rover etc. He had just quoted 2 new Range Rovers at just over £30,000 for insurance, both got handed back to Land Rover, so it could be worse.
Admiral multi car is best for me, which was a surprise.
