Hey,
As you may know from my numerous questions already posted on here - i'm currently restoring a '77 series 3 2.25ltr petrol. It's got to the point where I need to start shopping around for insurance quotes to know if taking her back up to uni in late september is going to cost more than the rebuild! I know its hard to give a rough figure - but I honestly have no idea what she'll be worth. I know how much i've spent, but I know thats not reflective of what she's worth (I know you never get anywhere near what you put in financially - but thats not why we do it is it?). Below are details about her (note - body work is done though still needs to be sprayed then fitted to her, but all the below parts have been brought and are in my workshop getting worked on);
- Nut & Bolt complete restoration (£580 nut and bolt kit (genuine l/r fastners))
- New Galvanised Chassis (Spray painted black (correctly primed - t-wash, acid etch etc)
- New Galvanised Bulkhead
- Completely rebuilt gearbox (Main & transfer)
- New fuel tank
- New parabolic suspension on Monroe Gas Shocks
- Rebuilt steering box
- Galvanised sills
- All Galvanised cappings and trims (i.e. windscreen & flashings)- re galvanised
- extensive work to rear tub - new floor, rear quarters, bottom supports
- new front wings (inner & outer both sides)
- new sills
- near door tops (both sides)
- repaired doors (bottoms - both sides)
All re-sprayed to a good standard in Bronze Green (roof cream).
Like I said, I'm not after an exact figure, but just an idea? So I know what to put on those forms,
Cheers,
Matt
