Hi all .

Has anybody recently tried to insure their L322 in the last day or 2. ?

Mine has rocketed from £300annually to ..... £2500 !!! .

It's an absolute ripp off. Tried the usual companies. Adrian flux , Aviva and a host of comparison sites.

I waited an hour and went back on and some are jumping to 4k . I am absolutely disgusted at this.

Anybody got a company recently , and I mean within days that's given a decent quote ?

Thanks in advance

Douglas

Moneysupermarket quote. Just used your Reg & my details. You could try that meerkat site as well.

Best time to get quotes is 23 days before renewal. Once you have quotes then call existing provider to see if they can match it.

Just tried that and ..... 2k to 4500 again. Never ever had an issue before.
Try opening a new private window, then do a quote. It won't have saved the cache. Did it with flights once every time I went on a site the price went up, flights in private browser were cheap.

Call them, and check your details on their system. Maybe something got added to the insurance database in your name by mistake ?? My understanding is all the insurers either use a common DB, so share data so errors get replicated.

If it was keyless entry then maybe about right, I'm with NFU £480 fully comp full no claims only do 4000 miles a year trailer cover as standard age 74 + when you go website and start filling in you details you get a phone number to ring and speak to a real person in England which makes a refreshing change.

There is an epidemic of Keyless Range Rovers being stolen so maybe you are being asked to contribute to the losses so incurred by the insurance companies.

Wasn't there a news article couple of weeks back where some companies were refusing to insure keyless Range Rovers
Over here, the greedy insurance companies used Covid as an excuse to hike prices. Mine went up by 50%, they lost out as I switched to Direct Assurance, the French equivalent of Direct Line which halved the premium to €260 so the greedy original company lost a long term customer and the insurance for 3 vehicles.

Does a 2004 L322 have keyless ? Maybe it could be disabled & inform the insurance peeps ?
