Howdo. Anyone else getting refused insurance on their Defender? I've got a 300tdi and an 07 Tdci. Never had a problem. This year even Adrian Flux is struggling!!! Anyone else having snags???

Insurance companies have decided they hate Defenders. Ive had the same issue.

Slightly modified and its a flat out no or a ridiculous price

Easily stolen, expensive to repair (by a garage) parts costs are high, values are hard to determine.

Some people have been lucky with Flux but they "where pleased to quote me £3k"🫣, NFU are good but wont accept you if you have any claims.

As for the tdci, many insurers have grouped those with the new Defenders, seen a few people being refused insurance because of keyless entry on an 18 year old Defender that never had Keyless entry 🤷‍♂️

Avoid Hastings at all costs, seen many policies cancelled for "non standard stickers" it had Defender lettering on the bonnet..... factory fit for some models

Strange, mine went down last year.
Try Admiral as I have a Td5 90, my son has a Ninety (200tdi) and a D2 no problems or restrictions.
I found the specialists more expensive or restrictions, in a garage ( yeah right).
A-plan said we are in a high risk postcode and wanted a lot more money.

Just renewed mine on the 8th with Lancaster. £189 for the year.
Do you live in Gaza?
Cornwall I think.
I know it's quite interesting to compare prices but rather pointless at the same time as so many variations between people circumstances.
For us Lancaster were also not competitive.
Adrian Flux, in the past, we're actually one company you could rely on to insure just about anything. Although I never had much confidence that they had a clue what they were doing.

I’m with Admiral too. They were the best price around, didn’t mind the minor modifications either.

It's funny (not) how many of these IC's advertise the 'average saving' gained by insuring with them .. until you ask for a quote
