I had a bit of a shock today I rang Adrian Flux for a quote on a 2004 County Td5 Cheapest quote I got was £985 and that was if I fitted a black box.
I have got two cars insured with them ,a Westfield Sports car[insured with them for 16yrs] and a series 3 landy[insured for two years] but both are on classic insurance so have not built up a no claims bonus. [Although the l/r does get a no claims bonus on this particular policy ]

The series three insurer [classic policy] declined to cover the 2004 county and declined to insure a 2000 year td5 as well ,Me thinks I will have to buy a mid 90,s L/R to get Classic status as there is no way I am paying around a grand for insurance

Unless you know better??

That's a bit worrying as I'm 70 now. We've only just re-insured the daily driver ('06 Ford) without any problem but my RRC is on a classic policy that doesn't have NCB. My other half & I alternate the policyholder/named driver on the Ford each year so we can both maintain our individual NCB entitlement. Good luck with the inevitable 'shopping around' for a realistic quote.

I think you're having the **** taken. I pay about 185 quid fully comp on my defender. Not a classic policy just ordinary insurance including business use. No no claims as I have it on my other vehicle. I'm 50.

My 1999/2000 TD5 is ~200 quid fully comp regular ins with free recovery-I am in my late 50's.
Use a comparison site-something well wrong with ur quotes

Thanks Guys

I just did an insurance comparison,2001 county cheapest quote with 1 yrs. no claims, fully comp.£475.00 a lot better but still high.

That was the cheapest of 93 quotes dearest being £1500.

its not only on age, record, vehicle , its is affected by post code as well , so that might be pushing it up a bit
I pay about 1300 for 5 vehicles two drivers , inc business use , agreed value on two . with a premium insurer . and I am getting on a bit now ;)

I've just paid £200 with Adrian flux fully comp om my 1990 90 I'm 52 I've got full no claims on my other car.

Postcode can have a big effect. My son moved to Liverpool and got a quote about double what he'd been paying in rural North Wales

Hi Mickyh

Could I ask you to PM me your details?

I'm keen to look into the quote to establish why it was so high. I can also refer it to see if anything can be done to reduce the cost.

Kind regards
Jordan
