I've fitted a boost gauge to my td5 to keep an eye on things. It's a mechanical job by so it doesn't need power to work, but I do need power to light it.
Tomorrow I'm going to be looking for the power feed to the lights on the back of the clocks but as time will be tight can anyone tell me what colour I should be looking for as I don't have a wiring diagram and will be doing it using my multi meter and turning the side lights on and off! If anyone knows it will save me a lot of time. Should I be ok to splice into the normal clock lighting or is it asking for trouble

Some models (might be the tdi) have a resistor in the clock light wiring so something to be aware of, not sure if TD5 has as it is a different clock.

Thanks that is a good starting point. Failing that I will take my feed from the sidelights under the wing or somewhere off the headlight light switch under the steering cowl.

If anyone needs to know for future reference and this comes up in a search using the wiring diagram that was kindly provided it is the red with the white tracer and black.
