now..i know you can remove engine and gearbox(plus transferbox ) in one go with the help of 22ton digger and shacking car 15 foot above grond till it crashes to floor leaving engine and box attached to quick hitch...

BUT..and a yes would be nice here..as i would like to fit autobox to engine first to insure correct torque convertor installation..CAN you fit engine and box in one go into rrc ??i have never tried, always fitted gearbox first and then fitted engine...
i would be fitting transferbox AFTER.

has anyone done this?i recon yes it is easy as long as rrc high enough to allow gearbox to fit in transtunnel at an angle..someone here must have tried to do this???

thanks (will save me loads of time knowing it can/cannot be done)

Welli reckon with bonnet off you'll scoop it in no problems, that's how the yanks do it on YouTube in normal cars!

As mr noisy said bonnet off and crossmember out should go in, but prob not if you still got the big supercharger bolted on the engine still;)
Don't forget to get the pics when you do it

no that goes on after..:p

haven't tried this method in rrc but on a 90 conversion. used forklift and trolley underneath to help slide box under. have to have front of vehicle high, maybe take front panel out of rrc.

With the bonnet landing panel off you can get the whole lot...engine/gearbox/transfer..in in one go no bother on the ground.

Had to take the front pipes off, cant remember why.

I installed it all in 1 in my 90, I stood on the gearbox yo push it down while my mate pushed it in with the gantry, shouldnt think it woykd be much harder to do in a RRC
