Hello Landy peeps!
Just a quick question.
I have just received new piston rings from the UK, and will be installing them today. I have already cleaned the pistons and the ring grooves. I also have a ring compressor tool to hand.
I recall when I removed the old rings how hard it was to remove them without the oil scraper ring breaking, and that the other 2 rings were fun also!
Does anyone have any suggestions on making installation stress free and more importantly, without breaking the new rings, and how to get that fiddly middle ring in without it dropping into an outer groove? I was wondering if sliding it on the outside of the compressor and then moving to the correct groove was a solution, or is there a tried and trusted way to do this?
Many thanks
