The tread is a copy of BFG MT's, as such they should work .. but the rubber isn't anywhere near as good so they don't actually work quite as well as they should. Hence the price difference ....

IMHO a better BFG copy is the Kingpin re-treads .. much closer rubber compound, but limited sizes and availability.

That's funny cos I know some people say Kingpin are ****. What ever he get's it's a budget tyre & will never be as good as BFG, when you have a mishap off road it's going to cost the earth to replace it.

I run INSA's (Not dakars but saharas) and have found them to wear very well, I have had no tyre degredation, no loss of tread and no significant advanced wear to them, they have held up very well, they are over a year old and only used up a few mm of the tread (I can tell as they still look like the spare which is brand new)

I have 265/75r16 Insa Turbo Dakars fitted to my 90 ... They have been excellent both on and off road, covered about 8,000 miles so far and have lost about 5mm of tread in that time.

For the moneyI can't fault them .... £460 from Craddocks fitted to black mods when I bought them during the Christmas snow 2010.
