Hi guys i was just looking for a bit of help, I got a small puncture on the side wall today and was trying to figure out what size inner tube id need for a 315/75/16? the reason why i say urgent is ive got a job interview tomorrow at a landy garage. Or would people recommend a arb puncture repair styled kit?

many thanks Luke.

Can't comment on inner tube sizes, but a sidewall puncture is notoriously difficult to repair. Some might say impossible to repair, due to the flexing of the tyre sidewall as the wheel rotates. Punctures in the tread area are easier to plug.
Can you not use the spare? Assuming that you do have a serviceable spare wheel.

It is illegal to repair a sidewall puncture anyway. I'm assuming that the tyre is already fitted with a inner tube & that the wheel rim is designed for it as you cannot employ a 'tube on a rim designed for a tubeless tyre.

What they said above .. why not use your spare for the day?

ahhhh right i assumed it more just puncture repair places didn't do it because it was a tricky area. No its not got one on at the moment the previous owner ran tyres with inner tubes with no issues on the modulars that i still have on at the moment just with different tyres and no tubes.

Not many places stock inner tubes these days but tyre shops that also do commercial/hgv stuff may do so. ATS and McConechy (Scotland only) do keep some. Size will be 16 x something :)

Apart from the legal implications, my own instincts would be that a puncture in the sidewall is quite likely to have damaged or at least weakened the structure of the tyre.
I think what everyone is saying is, "Bite the bullet and get a replacement tyre, new, remould or dare I say, part worn", although my own opinions about part worn are, shall we say, less than favourable, but that argument has been done to death on other freds.

Yeah looking closer at the puncture it'll probably be best. ive learnt there is no point we part worn ill just get some new ones

Interested in what people have got against part worn Tyres. I've never noticed a thread on here about them but then again, I don't live on landyzone.
