My Disco is not running too well at the moment so amongst other jobs i decided to renew the injector o rings and copper washers. Not a difficult job i thought. Now wish i hadn't disturbed them. First time i used Britpart parts but the motor then sounded so much louder so on a second attempt i used land rover branded parts but the motor still sounds loud a bit like a knackered old transit van. I have been meticulous ensuring all the seal surfaces are clean. The copper washers i was supplied with were flat copper washers, they look like they would need quite a force to deform to make a seal. i have seen on the forum reference to ribbed washers. Any ideas, or could it be a knackered injector.

Best regards

Hi,

Yes, tightened down by hand then backed off one full turn. Clearance does seem a lot though. Should I try 1/2 a turn?
I fitted new o rings and new flat copper washers (LR). Is this the same as a Discovery 2 CDL kit?

Oil level not rising but vehicle is sluggish in low revs

Did you make sure the cam lobes were at there highest on each cylinder before tightening injectors

Yes, i believe so. There is quite a large angle of cam lobe highest surface that the rocker
contacts as it rotates. This was at the point I make the adjustment

Can I remove the rocker box lid briefly whilst engine is running to see if i can find which ones are rattling or is oil going to shoot everywhere?
