Has the car been on diag? Masking a fault is hardly the way forwards. Find the fault and fix it. Sounds like you are feeling round in the dark with a blindfold on.

It's been done before to save changing a duff in tank pump, connect to the in tank pump feed.
However, I agree with Wammers, find the fault and fix it.

If you're gonna, be like that, two more indies worthy of great note:-

Scrub out your ears first and give these a go:-

Tune-yards- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lc7kcKSvoHw - and - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L2uW2PmVSe8 who are utterly unique and the most interesting new music I have heard in thirty years or more, and

Alt-J - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NRWUoDpo2fo

Thanks for that, however it does sort of confirm that being old and ever so slightly hard of hearing does have certain advantages. :D:D:D
