I've been having some bother with leak off pipes (separate post). Now sorted I hope, replaced with decent Gates pipe. However, the last time one went the well around no.1 injector filled with fuel. I replaced the pipe and mopped up the spillage. Fired it up to see all was well and noticed bubbling in the residue of fuel. Seems like the injector mustn't be properly sealed into cylinder and compression causes slight escape of air. Maybe obvious but do I just tighten it up? or is there more to it?

If it's not heat bubbles, just tighten it in the first place and see if it fixes it. Otherwise remove, clean and then refit with a new copper washer.
