I have been a few issues with my Range Rover which some fixes have been resolved after reading posts on here but now it’s time to reach out for some advice on whether I call it a day now.
I’ve got a 2006 L322 with 107K on the clock and so far I’ve avoided some big bills but think that’s about to change.
The main issue is in reverse the vehicle runs awful, it judders and shakes unless you give it some gas. Reading previous posts it’s recommened you flush the box @ 100K but I’ve just spoken to a garage who said they can do this but want me to sign a disclaimer because it might not fix or even help the issue.
This has been like that for a few months and it doesn’t seem to have got worse, luckily for the 7 months or so I’ve not had to commute so the use has been minimal.
I’ve just recently had it serviced again (twice this year already) and the mechanic pointed out that the ECU light doesn’t light up. There’s no faults but that got me a bit alarmed. The reason it he checked for faults is because it’s started running a bit lumpy now. The rev doesn’t idle and even when I’m at lights in D I have to put it into neutral or park just to stop the cabin shaking. I’m not sure what this could be, reading different posts it could be injectors or linked to the gearbox issue above since they’re common to fail @ 100K. It’s also started shaking at the back when doing 50, if you accelerate past 50 it the shaking/vibration at the rear goes, I’ve just recently had the discs and pads changed at the back so I would have though something like the bearings would have been reported to me.
The torque converter is something I’ve just read as being a culprit for the shaking when driving but could that also be causing the vibrations when stationary?
I’m waiting on a quote to flush the box but given that it seems to be having a few issues I’m not sure if it’s worth even spending any money on the box.
Does anyone have any recommendations or even just an estimate on the torque converter?
I really do like my jeep and if I could get another year before upgrading it would make my life easier. Hoping to move to a newer shape but need them to come down a bit more first.
